Experience Easter with Springfield School

Great to have Springfield school Year 2 come and participate in Experience Easter – a storytelling walk around the church helping children to learn about the various events of Holy Week.

We began with welcoming Jesus by waving our palm crosses and concluded with the celebration of Easter and hearing about his resurrection.

Children were offered a palm cross to keep if they wished and made a colouring in booklet and a mosaic poster to take back to class.

Volunteer storytellers were drawn from across Deanery churches including St Mary’s Partington, St Mary’s, St Anne’s and St Martin’s- thank you to everyone!

The photos in the Slideshow below were taken during the day.

Lent Services at St Paul’s

We’re having a congregational Lent group this year and so our readings are from a resource called ‘Preparing the Way for Jesus’ which is based on the life of John the Baptist. Each week there will be some discussion questions which we hope will help everyone engage in personal spiritual growth and discipleship.

On Mondays during lent we are holding Stations Of The Cross as detailed in the poster below.

The poster below details the Services during Holy Week.

Tree Festival Weekend

St Paul’s held their second Tree Festival weekend on 8th-10th December with well over 500 visitors during the event. The numerous trees decorated by many local groups were a splendid background to the various activities that were held. These included two brass band concerts, an organ recital, story telling, crafting sessions and of course refreshments.

The slideshow below shows photos taken during Sunday afternoon and the Festival booklet describing the various trees can be read on the link below the slideshow.
