Harvest Festival and Donald’s presentation

Our Harvest Festival took place on Sunday 6th October and we welcomed Springfield School choir who sang two songs. Harvest gifts were taken up to the altar and many other harvest gifts were displayed. Refreshments were served after the first part of the service and a short Communion service was held for those who wished to stay. The photos below were taken during the service.

During the service a presentation was made to Donald Brooks to mark his retirement from playing the organ at services. He has been doing this for almost 80 years. The photos below show him with Anne, Kevin and Harry after his presentation and with his gifts.

Harvest Festival

We are getting ready for celebrating Harvest this coming Sunday 6th Oct at 10am with our special guests Springfield School choir.
Please bring along food and toiletry donations for our local food-bank and the Mustard Tree project in Manchester.
If you prefer, there will be an opportunity to offer a monetary donation to Christian Aid’s Harvest of Hope project.
We are having a two-part service, beginning with a service of the word, which includes refreshments midway, and concluding with communion.
This service will be live-streamed

Heritage Open Day

The Church and Hall were open again this year for the annual national Heritage Day. Once again there were activities and refreshments available including tower tours, face painting, story telling and access to the parish registers. Inside the church there was an abundance of old photos from the archives and a display showing historical events connected with the Church over the decades. The Sale Brass Band played a selection of music which accompanied the good weather. The slideshow below shows photos taken during the afternoon.
