Our annual Palm Sunday service began with the procession of Palms starting in the Church Hall with a short service outside and finishing in Church. The Matthew Gospel description of Holy Week was enacted by several members of the congregation before the Communion service led by Lisa.

After the service in the Church Hall there were hot-cross buns to celebrate the Diamond wedding anniversary of Carole and Eric and Paula cut a cake to celebrate her 80th birthday as shown in the photos below.

After the Service on Epiphany Sunday Shemil, who took the Service, wrote an inscription on the Church door in Chalk. This is an centuries old custom which we have followed at Epiphany for the last few years. The patteren of the inscription is 20 and 26 represent the year, the + signs symbolise the Cross of Christ and the C, B and M have a dual meaning – the initials of the Three Wise Men (Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar) or the Latin phrase Christus Mansionem Benedictat which translates as “May Christ Bless this House”.
