Heritage Open Day

The Church and Hall were open again this year for the annual national Heritage Day. Once again there were activities and refreshments available including tower tours, face painting, story telling and access to the parish registers. Inside the church there was an abundance of old photos from the archives and a display showing historical events connected with the Church over the decades. The Sale Brass Band played a selection of music which accompanied the good weather. The slideshow below shows photos taken during the afternoon.

Members of St Paul’s with long memories will be sad to hear of the death of Hilda Arnold last month. She was the wife of one of our previous vicars, Roy Arnold, and was at St Paul’s between 1975 and 1982. She was very active in the life of St Paul’s during here stay in Sale

Her funeral is on this Thursday Aug 8th at Bollington Parish Church at 12 noon.

Thank You Clive

During the Sunday Morning service on July 21st a presentation was made to Clive in recognition of the many years service he had given to Babes and Tots. He is retiring from the group and the picture below shows Clive with Rachel who made the presentation.

Men’s Society Bowls Evening

On June 18th the Men’s Society joined with Sale Rotary Club at the Legh Arms in Sale Moor for a bowls match. This was a follow up from two years ago when we invited the Rotary to join us for our bowls evening at the Linden Club in Sale. The weather was kind if a little chilly. The winner of the match was Brian who beat Gareth from the Rotary Club in the final. Brian will be presented with the Cup in the near future. The evening finished with a large spread laid on by the Legh Arms.

The slideshow below shows photos with St Paul’s members taken during the evening.

Brian was finally presented with the cup in Church by the chairman on July 7th.
