March 2025 Prayer Walk

It was good to take part in the parish prayer walk on Sunday after morning service. Led by Revd Lisa we stopped briefly at various points around Sale for a time of prayer through which we looked at lifting up our hearts and voices joyfully in response to creation and the blessings that we encountered.

Epiphany Service

On the first Sunday of the New Year about 30 people managed to get through the thick snow for our Epiphany service.

At the end of the service the Vicar blessed some pieces of chalk and then went outside to chalk the Epiphany Blessing, 20+C+M+B+25, on the Porch Door as shown in the photo below. The letters denote the initials of the Three Wise Men with 20 and 25 denoting the New Year.

Carol Service

On Sunday evening we held our annual Carol by Candlelight service. There was a large congregation and the service began with the Springfield School Choir singing Silent Night (in German) and then the attention swung to the back of Church where some of the St Paul’s Choir ladies continued the carol. During the “O Come All Ye Faithful” carol the congregation sang with their individual candles lit.

After the service mince pies and mulled wine was served in the Church Hall. The photos below were taken during the service.
