St George’s Day Display
If you are passing the Church today please do take a red rose in celebration of our Country’s Patron Saints Day.
A prayer on St. George’s Day
Heavenly Father, give us the bravery of St George to stand up for what we believe. Give us the strength to overcome the dragons in our lives and in the world. And where we see people in distress, give us the compassion to help them. Amen
The stained glass window shown here, depicting St. George and the dragon was given by Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Bird of Elmwood, Brooklands Road, Sale in Memory of the Members of the St. Paul’s Company of the Church Lads Brigade who Fell in the Great War.
The slideshow below shows photos of the display.

St Paul’s supports Ukraine
The photos below were taken on Mar 20th showing displays in support of Ukraine outside the Church.

The display shows the prayer for Ukraine from the Archbishops and is repeated below.
God of peace and justice,
we pray for the people of Ukraine today.
We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons.
We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow.
that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them.
We pray for those with power over war or peace,
for wisdom, discernment and compassion
to guide their decisions.
Above all, we pray for all your precious children, at risk and in fear,
that you would hold and protect them.
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
Amen.
Archbishop Justin Welby
Archbishop Stephen Cottrell
In addition there will be a retiring collection to support Ukraine after the Mothering Sunday service on Mar 27th and a Coffee and Cake stall is planned for April 10th from 11:30am to 1:30pm.
