Men’s Society “Farmhouse” Supper

9 members went for a meal at the Legh Arms in Sale Moor on Nov 3rd. This was in place of our usual September Farmhouse supper evening which had to be postponed for various reasons. An excellent night ended at 9:45pm and as well as being earlier than usual there was no washing up afterwards. The photo below was taken during the evening

All Soul’s Day Evening Service

Our Service at 6pm on Oct 30th will be to remember our loved ones. Please bring a flower along to the Service in memory of a loved one. If you would like a name reading out please add the name to the sheet at the back of Church or contact the Vicar or Wardens.

From 12noon to 2:15pm in the Hall there is to be a “Soup Sunday” with details to be found under the What’s On – Church Hall heading.

Sunday 9th October **update** despite the Manchester Half Marathon and a number of road closures, we will be endeavoring to meet at 10am for Parish Communion and 6pm for Evening Prayer. Our Sunday morning readings are linked by the theme of God’s healing and mercy and we will touch upon the work of the Leprosy Mission who assist some of the most marginalized people groups across the world.

The Leprosy mission have a brilliant online shop which sells beautifully crafted items and Christmas cards from FairTrade cooperatives to help provide employment opportunities and raise funds. Just google Leprosy Mission shop or use this link: https://www.theleprosymissionshop.com/

Heritage Day Video

If you weren’t able to make it to Heritage Day why not take a look at this video made by Paul @Wickedacorn which includes a trip up the tower and the amazing view of Sale from the top. Paul came along to Heritage day and did some filming whilst he was with us. Paul has made quite a few videos on local history and stories from this area – take a look at his Youtube channel. Paul is also speaking at a men’s breakfast being held at St Martin’s Ashton on Mersey on Sat Oct 8th 2022.
