Four candidates from St Paul’s, Niamh, Rosie, Emily and Paul, were joined by three from St Anne’s parish and the choirs from both parishes sang accompanied by Ben Newlove on the organ.

Both events were very well attended with over 160 persons in Church for rge morning service.
A huge amount of Harvest gifts were given and will be distributed to the Mustard Tree project shortly.

Cakes and Awards
During the morning Service on Oct 4th Rosie Allen was presented with her Dean’s Chorister Award. The presentation was made by our organ scholar, Ben Newlove.
Ben had news of his own in that he has been chosen to be the organ scholar at St George’s Chapel, Windsor starting in 2016.
After the service, in the Church Hall, judging took place in the cake Bake Off competition. Each entry had to be two identical cakes, one for the congregation to taste and the other to be auctioned off afterwards. There were a large number of entries and photos taken during the morning can be seen above.
Heritage Open Day 2015
On Sept 12th St Paul’s again hosted a Heritage Open Day event with a day full of activities.
Exhibitions of photos both in the Hall and Church were accompanied by the Bollin Morris Men, the Cadishead Brass Band, a harpist, Handbell ringers, the Community Choir and organ music.
Victorian afternoon teas, burgers and hot dogs were available.
For the children Helen Stewart told stories, Punch and Judy and a magician entertained them and a bouncy castle provided fun outdoors.
Although the weather could have been a bit better the day was very well attended.

Bowling Match 2015
On the evening of July 2nd, 14 members and friends assembled for the annual Men’s Society Bowling match.
Although the rain stopped at 7:00pm because of an important tournament coming up it was decided we could not use the green but were given the run of the snooker table, darts board etc for the evening. This gave plenty of time to enjoy the buffet provided, as usual, by the Corners. These photos were taken during the evening.
Gift Day for Church Hall Roof Fund
On Sunday June 28th there was a gift day to raise funds for the Church Hall Roof renewal. The highlight was a sponsored cycle ride to Blackpool by Rob & Paul and to match this two cycle machines in Church enabled others to ride to a virtual Blackpool. The photos here were taken during the event and on the photo with Sheila is Alan Buckley who was visiting from Australia. He was in St Paul’s choir 40 years ago.
The cyclists returning from Blackpool arrived back at St Paul’s at 7:20pm and were greeted by a peal of bells and people who had attended Evensong.

Visit to Salford Museum
The Men’s Society made a visit to Salford Museum & Art Gallery on Wed 24th Feb. It was an open meeting so members were accompanied by family and friends. We were shown round by Amy, a very knowledgeable guide, and saw numerous Victorian paintings and travelled back in time to a Victorian Street (Lark Hill Place) recreated using many original shop fronts salvaged during Salford’s re-development. The visit finished with refreshments in the Museum Cafe.
The photos show the party on the street.
Bridges & Church Hall Roof Appeal
The theme of the All-Age service on Sunday 18th Jan was “building bridges”.
An activity was held to build bridges using various materials and two of the results are shown below. The overall object was to promote the fund-raising required to re-roof the Church Hall which is our bridge between the Church and the Community in Sale. Approx £40000 will be required and the Appeal display was unveiled and is shown here.
