There are several different ways to get involved in Community life at St Paul’s.
If you’re new to faith or looking to learn more about being a follower of Jesus then please do come along on a Sunday morning for worship. This is our main meeting time and means you get to meet others who are also on the journey too. During the morning service you’ll be invited to join in with the singing and prayers that we offer as our worship to God. You’ll be invited to receive Communion- which consists of bread and wine as a reminder that Jesus died for us and asked us to remember him in this way. You may like to ask for a prayer of blessing instead of receiving communion. You’ll be invited for refreshments afterwards in the Church hall which is an opportunity to meet new people and share a social time together.
During the week there is a quieter 10am Holy Communion said service on a Wednesday, no hymns are sung and the service is approx 30 mins long. On the first Wednesday of the month, we use contemporary language service, the rest of the month we use the Book of Common Prayer which is a traditional language service.
At different times of the year you will be invited to join groups that may be studying a particular Bible text or looking at a particular issue for example Social Justice or the environment.
You may also like to consider volunteering at the various groups or helping with refreshments after the service. St Paul’s is entirely reliant on volunteer support to undertake regular admin and finance tasks, run the different groups, sing in the choir, keep on top of maintenance tasks and make sure the buildings and gardens are clean and tidy.
For more information about individual groups please see the drop down menu below Community as we will be updating these soon.

Let us pray…
You’ll find at the back of church a board for folks to use whether as part of a family group or as an individual prayer activity- just choose from the selection of images, words and phrases to make your own prayerboard.

A Prayer for Ukraine

God of peace and justice,
we pray for the people of Ukraine today.
We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons.
We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow.
that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them.
We pray for those with power over war or peace,
for wisdom, discernment and compassion
to guide their decisions.
Above all, we pray for all your precious children, at risk and in fear,
that you would hold and protect them.
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
Amen.

A Prayer for St Paul’s

Creator God, we embrace Your call for us to be disciples, to be witnesses, to inspire children and young people. Help us to acknowledge the gifts of our past, the living of our present and our hopes for the future.
Lord Jesus, we are nourished by prayer, the word and sacraments especially the Eucharist. We will strive to be a visible sign of God’s love for the world.
Holy Spirit, baptised in your name, we accept the challenge to live as Jesus did. We will celebrate our lives and gifts in service to others, welcoming all people and sharing in abundant generosity our God-given resources.
As the people of the parish of St Paul’s Sale, we pray that you would grant us strength, courage and perseverance to reveal the Kingdom of God in this place. Amen.
