It has been a tradition at St Paul’s to use the trunk of the Christmas tree to create the Lenten Cross which is used during our Lent services in Church. This year because of the COVID restrictions on the use of the Church we have put the Lenten Cross outside the Church so it can be seen by passers by to remind them that we are still functioning. The photo below was taken during the live streamed service on the first Sunday of Lent.

Each Sunday a further symbol of Lent will be added to the Cross and an explanation of the symbol will be displayed below it.

The flag at St. Paul’s Parish Church, Sale today flies at half-mast in honour of Captain Sir Tom Moore as we give thanks for his life and example of kindness, humanity and care. 

Our Vicar Barbara has now retired and we all wish her well in the next phase of her life.

It has been reluctantly decided to immediately suspend public worship due to the continued local increases in the rates of infection of the Covid-19 virus until the end of February and for this to be reviewed in mid February.

The Church will be open between 2pm and 4pm on Sunday afternoons for private prayer.

We will continue to endeavour to live stream from church wherever possible.

The slideshow below was taken during the Carol Service on Dec 20th.

They show the choir in position before the service, the Christmas Trees and the crib lit up outside the Church and the moon beyond the tower.

The next Community Choir will be on Friday 18^th at 2 pm. Starting next year there will be one Community Choir  singalong online  each month with the date to be announced.

Because this year is so different at Christmas we have decorated the outside of the church with Christmas Trees and our Crib. All are welcome to walk past these on the way to the canal bank.
