Easter Sunday

During the Easter Sunday service the congregation were invited to add flowers to the Easter cross and to wave to Frank and viewers in India who were watching the live stream. After the service there was a visit from a familiar friend.

The photos below were taken on the day and during the following week when the Easter Cross was hung outside the Church – although it suffered some wind damage.

Palm Sunday

Our Palm Sunday service started in the Church Hall and the choir and congregation processed from the Hall and held a brief session outside the Porch before moving into Church. The main part of the service was the Gospel of the Passion which involved the whole congregation. The photos below were taken during the morning and show the Holy Week gate-post covers, the Palm Sunday garden, the raising of the Holy Week flag and the decorated Porch with posters and palm crosses available for passers by.

Men’s Society AGM

In a change to both our regular venue and usual date the Men’s Society held their AGM at the Leigh Arms in Sale Moor on Mar 30th. Nine members and friends attended and after the business, which included re-electing the committee, a two course meal was enjoyed by all. The photos below were taken during the evening.

Mothering Sunday

At the All Age worship on Mothering Sunday we were joined by the local Guides, Brownies and Rainbows and during the service the congregation were encouraged to write messages on a petal which were added to a flower on a sheet and the result is shown in the photo below. Bunches of daffodils and cards were given out during and after the service. A display in the Church porch included bunches of daffodils to be taken by passers by as shown in the photo below.
