On a lovely sunny day our annual Summer Fair was spread over the Vicarage Garden, the Church Grounds and the Hall. In addition our Flower Festival (see above) was taking place in the Church.
Entertainment was supplied by the Sweet Rythym Band playing outside the Vicarage. There were many children’s games, face painting, the usual stalls and refreshments with shade provided by several Gazebos.
A ballon race was also started and we await the returned postcards from far afield.
For some photos of the event appear below.

Harvest Supper 2003
The Harvest supper was held on Saturday 27th September in the Church Hall and was attended by a large number of parishioners and friends. This year a hotpot, followed by apple pie and cream, was provided by outside caterers and this was enjoyed by all.
Entertainment was interspersed with the food to aid the digestion. This began with Margaret Walker regaling us with poems from Pam Ayres and Stanley Holloway. The Choir not only sang but extended their repertoire by forming a ‘band’, the main instruments being violins, piano and flute but with a strong accompaniment on a selection of drums.
The evening closed with a keenly fought Beetle Drive – although for some 6 for a head and 5 for a body proved to be too much! Photos taken during the entertainment are shown below.
Canal Mission 2003
September saw the start of the Chester Diocese Canal Mission. This started at St Paul’s on the weekend of Sept 13th with a Family Fun event and a Commissioning Service with a Walk of Witness on Sunday 14th September at 2:30pm. The Bishop of Stockport, the Rt Revd Nigel Stock led the Walk.
The Family Fun event began on a lovely sunny September evening and the photos below which show some of the Mission boats moored on the Bridgewater Canal outside St Paul’s Church.
