Taken from St Paul’s Facebook page the text, photos and video below give a flavour of the Teddy Bear Parachute Jump on Saturday July 29th.
So a few of our teddy’s ended up on the roof but we got the professionals in.
We also had teddy bears from Sale Guides and Sale Central Cubs Parker pack, lovely to see Brown Owl and Akela joining in the fun.
The event is featured in a YouTube video as part of the Wicked Acorn series and can be found at the link below. It may make you dizzy at times. (also we are happy to report that the stranded teddy has been retrieved.

The theme of the Sunday Morning service on July 2nd was “giving” and the Vicar outlined the costs involved in keeping the Church open week to week. The congregation were encouraged to review their contributions and all were given a letter from Brian, our Planned Giving Officer, which can be read at the link below.
The letter has also been added to our Donation page which can be found at the main menu above.

Use the QR code to make a ‘one off’ donation to our special 140th Anniversary campaign through ‘Give a Little’.
Thank you so much for your help.
The two images below give details of two events coming in July.

On June 25th St Paul’s held their 140th Anniversary Choral Evensong followed by Afternoon Tea.
Despite the warm weather a heavy shower just before the service started meant that the afternoon tea had to be held in the Hall.
A large congregation attended the Service including many old friends of St Paul’s who had travelled to be present. The Choir had been augmented by friends and contributed to the many choral numbers during the service. The sermon was given by Canon John Sutton.
After the Service the event moved to the Church Hall where extra tables and chairs had to be set out to cope with the numbers. A special cake, made by Carole, included the names of all the Vicars of St Pauls during the past 140 years. The cake was cut by John who is our longest serving member of the congregation and who has been at St Paul’s for over 80 years.
The slideshow below shows photos taken during the afternoon and below that is the Order of Service.
